Self-Archiving Policy

Purpose

REMAP supports the widest possible dissemination of the knowledge it publishes and, in line with its open access model, authorizes and encourages self-archiving, that is, the deposit by authors of their own works in repositories and academic spaces. This practice strengthens the early and permanent circulation of research and broadens its reach.

Versions of a Work

To avoid ambiguity, this policy distinguishes among three versions. A preprint is the manuscript prior to peer review. The accepted version is the manuscript that has been reviewed and accepted, before the journal’s editing and layout process. The published version, or version of record, is the final document with REMAP’s format, pagination, and identifier.

What the Journal Authorizes

Authors may deposit the published version of their work without any embargo period, given the journal’s immediate open access policy. Appropriate spaces for deposit include:

Institutional academic repositories, when available and appropriate.

Subject-specific or multidisciplinary open access repositories, such as Zenodo or SSRN, among others relevant to the field.

Personal and institutional academic webpages and academic networks, provided that the conditions set out below are respected.

When a preprint exists prior to publication, its deposit is also welcome, provided that the author declares it at the time of submission, in accordance with the journal’s originality policy.

Conditions for Deposit

Any deposit must cite REMAP as the original source of publication and include the article’s persistent DOI, so that the deposited version always refers back to the version of record. The use of the contents is governed by the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) under which the journal publishes. This license allows the document to be shared in full, with acknowledgment of authorship and source, without commercial use and without derivative works. Authors retain the rights to their work under the terms of that license.

Validity and Updating

This policy is reviewed periodically. Questions may be addressed to the REMAP editorial direction at remap@ugto.mx.
